Meerilinga Young Children’s Foundation Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation working with children, their families, and the community to promote positive childhoods.

 

We run our Children and Family Services across eight Perth locations. These services include Early Learning Programs, Playgroups, Parenting Services, and community and family events. We employ Educators, Place Administrators, Enrolment Officers, and others to best support the children, families, and community who engage with our Services.

Through the Meerilinga Training College, we offer the Certificate III and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. We employ qualified Trainers, Youth Support Workers, Administration Support, Sales Representatives, and others to ensure our College runs smoothly and supports students through their learning journey and into employment.

Traineeship – Early Education & Care

Looking to start your career in early childhood education and care?

We are currently looking for ten enthusiastic candidates for immediate start in March 2022 who wish to fulfill their passion for Early Childhood Education & Care and aspire to complete a Certificate III qualification through Meerilinga Training College.

 

What Meerilinga will offer you?

  • Paid six months on-the-job practical experience and training;
  • A six-month traineeship working towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care;

We are seeking applicants who:

  • Hold or can attain a Working with Children Check (WWC);
  • Have their COVID-19 Vaccination(s);
  • Are passionate in working with children and supporting families;
  • Are reliable, flexible and have a professional standard of presentation and attitude;
  • Able to manage and balance work with study and commit personal time for extended study and assessment activities;
  • Have passed Year 10 numeracy and literacy or equivalent;
  • Are an Australian citizen or are eligible to work in Australia.

The position will offer 15-20 hours a week in one of our beautiful services, located at one of our Perth Metropolitan services (Cockburn, Kingsley, Woodvale, Ballajura, Beechboro, High Wycombe). We offer children aged 2 years to 5 years play based learning from 8.30am to 3.30pm, five days a week.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Children’s Services Award 2018, Meerilinga Flexibility Agreement and Traineeship Terms and Conditions.

Curriculum Leader Position – Ballajura (65 hours per fortnight, Mon – Fri)

Curriculum Leader Position – Ballajura (65 hours per fortnight, Mon- Fri)

A unique opportunity to lead a small team of Diploma trained Educators in a pre-kindy environment. Our beautiful service is integrated within the Children and Family Centre. Our 20-place service offers children aged 2 years to 5 years play based learning from 8.30am to 3.30pm, 5 days per week.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Excellent knowledge of National Quality Framework
  • Demonstrated experience building partnerships with children and families
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to design and deliver exceptional educational programs
  • Ability to collaborate, encourage, and inspire Educators
  • Sound judgement and decision making
  • Competent in role modelling innovation and creativity in our Early Learning programs

Role Requirements 

  • Hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent (ACECQA approved)
  • 2 years’ experience leading an early learning program.
  • Current First Aid

Centre Director Position – Kingsley (35 hours per week, Mon – Fri)

Centre Director Position – Kingsley (35 hours per week, Monday – Friday)

Located at our Kingsley Meerilinga Children and Family Centre, this role, reporting directly to the Advisory Services requires an experienced, efficient, and passionate team member to oversee the day-to-day administration of a regulated early learning and community services facility and team.

  Our selection requirements are:

  • A Diploma level nationally recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care or Community Services or equivalent (ACECQA approved)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience coordinating service delivery environments for children and families
  • Knowledge and experience in community engagement and codesign to implement partnerships, promotion & service strategies
  • Knowledge of Early Years Learning Framework and National Education and Care 2011 Regulations, and United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and Childcare Government Benefits
  • Ability to network, cooperate with local services, coordinate the exchange of information, and identify opportunities to collaborate meeting the needs of the community.
  • Capability to build community partnerships, learn about the community, plan for change, and implement collective partnerships, programs, and skills.

This role has a range of responsibilities in accordance to holding an approved diploma-level qualification and organisational policies and procedures and as directed. Guided by the philosophy of “Play with Purpose” ensuring opportunities for positive learning experiences are achieved through play.

 

We are seeking applicants who:

  • Have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
  • Have a working knowledge of appropriate curriculum frameworks and an ability to develop and implement a high-quality educational program that reflects the diverse nature of the centre, local and wider community, based on the curriculum frameworks
  • Have a working knowledge of the National Quality Standards, the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2012 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2012
  • Demonstrate experience and ability to establish warm nurturing and responsive relationships with children and to sensitively meet their needs
  • Demonstrate ability to work with families, children, and educators in a culturally competent manner
  • Can work cooperatively and flexibly within a team environment
  • Are confident using computers, and have basic Microsoft Office experience
