Rethinking Screen Time with Dr Mari Swingle

Nature Play WA, in partnership with the Department of Communities, Meerilinga Young Children’s Foundation, Parenting Connections, and the Commissioner for Children and Young People have joined together to bring internationally renowned speaker Dr. Mari Swingle to Perth.
Meerilinga Young Children’s Foundation and venue partner the City of Swan invites you to attend a free one-hour presentation about how the management of screen time is important for children, and how to foster health and happiness in the digital age.
Join the free informative workshop at the Ethel Warren Community Centre in Bullsbrook to learn how screens are changing young brains, and master making the best decisions regarding screen-based technology. This workshop will be presented by Dr Mari Swingle, a Canadian therapist, researcher, writer, author and international speaker.

Dr Swingle is the author of i-Minds: How Cell phones, Computers, Gaming & Social Media are Changing our Brains, Our Behaviours and the Evolution of our Species.
Her research tackles the effects of unnecessary and extensive exposure to screen-based devices on brain and behaviour. Through public outreach, Dr Swingle raises awareness on which aspects of technology we should question, embrace and reject.
