COVID-19 Update 15 May 2020

Dear Families

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to positive hygiene practices during this time. Following government advice from Sunday 10 May, Meerilinga will commence the reopening of services systematically. This means we will phase in services at 14 – 21 day intervals to enable our teams to manage the additional cleaning schedules, space allocations, social distancing and commitment to community wellbeing.

Effective immediately, the external doors at each centre will remain locked outside of key arrival and departure times. This enables the staff to be able to monitor people entering and leaving the building.

From 18 May, the first services to commence returning will be our long-term community hirers. Limitations, additional hire terms and conditions will apply. Community group organisers are advised to contact the Finance team at West Leederville on telephone 9489 4022 for information and new venue bookings.

All Meerilinga Playgroups will remain suspended, pending a review 5 June 2020. This includes Seniors Groups and Intergenerational Playgroups. The Meerilinga Team will remain in close contact with our families and seniors, with opportunities for digital contact and open-air meet ups in the park a possibility. Please talk with your Centre Director if you would like to discuss ideas for a safe meet up before 5 June.

For the time being, all Community Events and Holiday Programs remain closed pending further advice from the Australian Health Department and the capacity of our services. This is schedule to be reviewed 5 June 2020.

The entire team at Meerilinga continue to do our utmost to minimise the opportunity for virus transfer in our services and communities. We thank our children, families and community members for working with and standing by us through this challenging time.

Yours sincerely
Lesley Moreschi
Chief Executive Officer
